There is a number of products that one can use to detox one’s body naturally. Detoxification presupposes taking in the foods that help and the ones that are better to be avoided. Here are some tips on both.

List of Foods to Avoid When You Want to Detox

1. Sugar

Everything sweet is not good when you try to detox. This especially refers to refined sugar and mixtures containing refined sugar, including sucrose, dextrose, corn syrup, brown sugar and etc. Such products will only diminish your attempts at detoxification. Thus it is strongly recommended to avoid such products as well as any artificial sweeteners.

2. Dairy Products

The same refers to milk and other dairy products – they are not helpers in the process.

3. Wheat

Wheat and products containing wheat – keep away from them either even if you are so much in love with cookies, buns and pies.

4. Gluten

Gluten-containing products are also better to be avoided in order to pass the detox stage successfully.

5. Caffeine

Caffeine-containing products are not the best idea for people who try to detox. Caffeine only dehydrates a person’s organism and makes the liver work harder with the only effect that you’ll have to consume more fluid. Thus, abstaining form coffee at least for some time is a good idea.

6. Alcohol

Alcohol makes the liver work very hard, and it also makes it fat, or fatter. It also thwarts all the efforts made at detoxifying an organism. Apart from the fact that it is not good in all the senses, keeping away from it on the detox stage is a wise idea.

List of Foods to Stick to When You Want to Detox

1. Water

It is definitely number one when it comes to detoxification. Water flushes away all residue and toxic waste from our organism. It is something we all take for granted yet, it is one of the most powerful detoxes and it is so easy to get. For better results it is recommended to increase water intake through the day as much as it is possible.

2. Fresh Fruit and Juices

This refers to all fresh fruit – they contain fiber as well as nutrients that are really able to help your organism to get into action. Besides, fresh fruit provides a person’s body with all things necessary and provides energy.

3. Fresh Vegetables

The same can be said about fresh vegetables – if you cannot concentrate on vegetable diet only, try to increase the amount of actual fresh veggies in your daily intake.

4. Rice

This one is also considered pretty helpful while you detox – try brown or basmati rice, or numerous variations of rice products that are now available.

5. Grains

Any health food store can offer you a great variety of grains; a local food chain store can offer some choice as well.

6. Nuts and Seeds

Unsalted nuts, seeds and nut butters can be sprinkled over any meal. Includes flaxseed, pumpkin seeds, sesame seeds, sunflower seeds, almonds, cashews and walnuts. Avoid peanuts.

7. Oils

Extra-virgin olive oil has got a number of properties that will help the process of detoxification. Besides, it is also a better choice for a product when it comes for cooking in general.

8. Seaweed

Most people underestimate this product and are used to see it in a sushi restaurant only; however, seaweed is definitely a winner when it comes to the count of nutrients and antioxidants. This is a definite choice for a person who tries to detox no matter for a short time or generally cleanse one’s organism and feel more fit and energetic.
